January, radiowaves, and the unsung wonders of stormy weather

” Well, there it is! ” – Emperor Joseph II

The website is Live! As is this broadcast. I’ll make no promises off the bat about its frequency (talking about time intervals between posts of course, not the FM Wavelength), but it will be reasonable. The goal is to keep a concise but relatively accurate record of what we’re up to. One thing that can be said with utmost certainty is that we will broadcast from our oil derrick in the urban sea of concrete that is the southern tip of Lincoln Heights. Port of call for Studio ROOL, and its defacto home.

So, Studio ROOL! Pronounced ‘Rule’. Although admittedly, in Russian I pronounced it as a Ro-ohl. The english word ‘rule‘ translates as steering wheel (ั€ัƒะปัŒ). Actually Ro-ohl is somewhat appropriate, considering that ROOL comes from a portmanteau of our names. But anyway, to clear up any confusion – RULE is how we pronocunce it among ourselves, and is also how we describe it to others. The long and short of it is we’ve pooled our talents and are now operating as a crew. For those folks whom we’ve had the undeniable pleasure of working with for the last few years, this changes nothing, except the email address whereby you can reach us. And those of you uninitiated – Welcome! Feel free to browse our About page. Contact is coming shortly as well.

In the meantime, excuse us while we get busy on publishing the best part – our portfolio of works. Thankfully there is a little bit of time on hand. Our other professional commitment – teaching architecture at Pasadena City College – is on a brief break due to a winter session which we are not partaking in. Combined with the fact that the weather has been stormy, the ambiance is near perfect for finetuning a website. So I best get busy. Portfolio page coming right up!

Stay tuned!
